Isaiah
18 Remember not former things, and look not on things of old. 19 Behold I do new things, and now they shall spring forth, verily you shall know them: I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. 21 This people have I formed for myself, they shall shew forth my praise. 22 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob, neither hast thou laboured about me, O Israel. 24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy victims. But thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thy iniquities. 25 I am, I am he that blot out thy iniquities for my own sake, and I will not remember thy sins. |
18 Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not; 19 See, I am doing something new! Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? In the wilderness I make a way, in the wasteland, rivers. 21 The people whom I formed for myself, that they might recount my praise. 22 Yet you did not call upon me, Jacob, for you grew weary of me, Israel. 24 You did not buy me sweet cane, nor did you fill me with the fat of your sacrifices; Instead, you burdened me with your sins, wearied me with your crimes. 25 It is I, I, who wipe out, for my own sake, your offenses; your sins I remember no more. |
Psalm
2 Blessed is he that understandeth concerning the needy and the poor: the Lord will deliver him in the evil day. 3 The Lord preserve him and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth: and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies. 4 The Lord help him on his bed of sorrow: thou hast turned all his couch in his sickness. 5 I said: O Lord, be thou merciful to me: heal my soul, for I have sinned against thee. 13 But thou hast upheld me by reason of my innocence: and hast established me in thy sight for ever. 14 Blessed by the Lord the God of Israel from eternity to eternity. So be it. So be it. |
2 Blessed the one concerned for the poor; on a day of misfortune, the LORD delivers him. 3 The LORD keeps and preserves him, makes him blessed in the land, and does not betray him to his enemies. 4 The LORD sustains him on his sickbed, you turn down his bedding whenever he is ill. 5 Even I have said, “LORD, take note of me; heal me, although I have sinned against you. 13 In my integrity may you support me and let me stand in your presence forever. 14 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from all eternity and forever. Amen. Amen.
These types of changes affect the whole character of the psalm. It pains me, what has been done to the psalms. |
2 Corinthians
18 But God is faithful, for our preaching which was to you, was not, It is, and It is not. 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ who was preached among you by us, by me, and Sylvanus, and Timothy, was not, It is and It is not, but, It is, was in him. 20 For all the promises of God are in him, It is; therefore also by him, amen to God, unto our glory. 21 Now he that confirmeth us with you in Christ, and that hath anointed us, is God: 22 Who also hath sealed us, and given the pledge of the Spirit in our hearts. |
18 As God is faithful, our word to you is not “yes” and “no.” 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed to you by us, Silvanus and Timothy and me, was not “yes” and “no,” but “yes” has been in him. 20 For however many are the promises of God, their Yes is in him; therefore, the Amen from us also goes through him to God for glory. 21 But the one who gives us security with you in Christ and who anointed us is God; 22 he has also put his seal upon us and given the Spirit in our hearts as a first installment. Mark
1 And again he entered into Capharnaum after some days. 2 And it was heard that he was in the house, and many came together, so that there was no room; no, not even at the door; and he spoke to them the word. 3 And they came to him, bringing one sick of the palsy, who was carried by four. 4 And when they could not offer him unto him for the multitude, they uncovered the roof where he was; and opening it, they let down the bed wherein the man sick of the palsy lay. 5 And when Jesus had seen their faith, he saith to the sick of the palsy: Son, thy sins are forgiven thee. 6 And there were some of the scribes sitting there, and thinking in their hearts: 7 Why doth this man speak thus? he blasphemeth. Who can forgive sins, but God only? 8 Which Jesus presently knowing in his spirit, that they so thought within themselves, saith to them: Why think you these things in your hearts? 9 Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy: Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say: Arise, take up thy bed, and walk? 10 But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) 11 I say to thee: Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house. 12 And immediately he arose; and taking up his bed, went his way in the sight of all; so that all wondered and glorified God, saying: We never saw the like. |
1 When Jesus returned to Capernaum after some days, it became known that he was at home. 2 Many gathered together so that there was no longer room for them, not even around the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 They came bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. 4 Unable to get near Jesus because of the crowd, they opened up the roof above him. After they had broken through, they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Child, your sins are forgiven.” 6 Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves, 7 “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming. Who but God alone can forgive sins?” 8 Jesus immediately knew in his mind what they were thinking to themselves, so he said, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts? 9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, pick up your mat and walk’? 10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth”— 11 he said to the paralytic, “I say to you, rise, pick up your mat, and go home.” 12 He rose, picked up his mat at once, and went away in the sight of everyone. They were all astounded and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this.” |
